Rice Flour Ribbon Pakoda

Rice Flour Ribbon Pakoda is a quick & easy fritters made with rice flour & curd (along with a slight hot kick from green chillies) & deep fried in oil. My mom gave me this recipe when I was complaining about the difficulties in making murukkus or pakodas. This is a quick and easy snacks that you can make on a rainy evening in no time 😉

Rice Flour Ribbon Pakoda Recipe


Rice Flour – 2 cups

Curd – 1 cup

Green chillies – 7

Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp

Salt – 1 tsp

Sesame seeds – 1 tsp

Preparation method:

  1. Grind together rice flour with green chillies.

IMG_19822. Add salt, sesame seeds & asafoetida to the mixed flour and make a smooth dough with curd.

IMG_19833. Use the ribbon pakoda press in the Murukku maker and fill the dough in it.

IMG_19844. Heat oil in a kadai or pan & press the mould (with slight pauses) in the hot oil on a medium flame.IMG_1990

  1. Flip the pakodas to cook on both sides and drain in the paper towel.Rice Flour Pakoda - HMD56. Serve with coffee or tea & store the rest in an airtight container.
