Homemade Ginger Garlic Paste – DiY – Inji Poondu Vizhudhu

Ginger-Garlic Paste – DiY

Ginger Garlic paste is a mixture of ginger & garlic pureed roughly in a ratio of 40/60. Adding ginger and garlic to the dishes (Especially Indian Food) would give a special flavor to food. As ginger and garlic have a strong flavor, many would not prefer to bite small chunks of ginger & garlic in their gravies or curries. But, as they are good for health and enhance the flavor, we would add them as a mixed paste so that there won’t be any option for isolating them out while eating.

I believe the pureed form of ginger & garlic works well with other Indian spices than the powdered one. I just love the aroma of cooking ginger & garlic in oil while tempering for Briyani or Kuruma. 🙂 Try adding ginger garlic paste to your plain veggie curries and see the magic it brings on the taste.
