Thai Cuisine Workshop – Paprika The Food Hub – Go Eventz
What is the first thing that pops on your mind when you hear Pad thai, Som Tam, Khao soi, Spring roll, Pumpkin Curry, Green Curry??? I hear that you want me to stop and you found it already what I am rambling about. Yep! I’m talking about Thai Cuisine. 🙂
Thai Cuisine is one of the most popular cuisines in the world. Thai Cuisine mainly incorporates five fundamental tastes: sour, spicy, sweet, bitter & salty. Common ingredients used in Thai cuisine include garlic, chillies, lime juice, lemon grass, coriander, galangal, palm sugar, and fish sauce. Though, it brilliantly involves the complexity of flavors, it would mostly be gentle and easy cooking.:)
Most of us love Thai cuisine because it’s spicy and most flavors are similar to those of Indian cuisine involving coconut milk, spices, jasmine rice & peanut sauce. Their stir-fry recipes are light & fresh, because the vegetables are cooked quickly to retain their flavor, crispiness and nutrition. I recently tried Pad Thai in a restaurant and the stir-fried noodles with beans, green onions & crushed peanut in sweet & sour tamarind sauce was simply superb. It was spicy and flavorful and I couldn’t control myself from finishing of the whole plate of Pad Thai.
When I wanted to try Thai recipes, I noticed that a lot of dishes are vegetarian-friendly, but the liberal use of fish sauce, oyster sauce & shrimp paste makes them less consumable for vegetarians. (But, I bet Non-vegetarians would love that :|). If you don’t mind cooking at home and a non-vegetarian, then you would have abundant opportunities to try thai dishes. One such opportunity is knocking your door now. Paprika, The Food Hub is hosting a “Thai Cuisine Workshop” for you to master the art of authentic thai cuisine. Learn and try the vegetarian thai dishes at your home to impress your guests and family members with your Thai skills.
